An infinite wall
Veremos un paisaje modelado por el paso del tiempo para advertir que hay un fondo que no ha cambiado

Factoría Echegaray commissioned us to design the scenography for the play La Vengadora de las Mujeres. A play performed by Jóvenes Clásicos. It premiered at the Teatro Echegaray in Malaga in March 2021 with great public and critical success. It is currently on tour throughout Spain.
The text presents an imaginary trial in which different cases of abuse against women are studied. The plot takes place in different times and with different characters. With origins in the classics and written in verse, this play describes different situations of abuse that reach up to the present. It is formalized as a court proceeding in front of an audience that acts as a jury.
After receiving a commission for a scenographic design, we go deep into the content of the story. We try to create a visual world that connects with the viewer. We seek to emotionally engage the audience with the plot and that the built space not only serves as a set, but also offers an added reading to the performance. This makes us really enjoy this type of work in which we explore the conceptual part in depth without forgetting the technical issues.
Our scenography design proposal for the play is inspired by the representation of abuses reflected throughout the history of art. We formalized the project by building an infinite wall where an endless number of unsolved case files are stacked. Two modules are added to this wall to add dynamism and allow the actors to play with the space. Little by little and as it happens to the characters, the scenography is torn apart, revealing everything that hides the surface. The archive is unveiled and we are shown a daunting wall of unsolved cases piled up. Fortunately, thanks to the scenography for the play La Vengadora de Las Mujeres, we managed to open a crack to hope.
